Developing on the PC

With the use of POSE, the Palm Operating System Emulator, it is entirely possible to develop Palm applications that are meant to be developed only on the handheld, on the PC. The details of download and installation of POSE are not covered here. POSE Version 3.5 or above is required for this tutorial.

1. Start POSE and install iziBasic by dragging and dropping the working program, izibasic_full.prc onto the emulator.

2. Create your code in TextPad, a fantastic text edtor with available syntax highlighting.

3. Copy your TextPad code to the clipboard and paste it into a memo in POSE.

4. Start iziBasic in POSE and select Built it, the memo is automatically recognized by iziBasic.

5. To save your compiled PRC file, right-click on POSE and select Export Database.

6. Select your application and save to the directory of your choice.
