Program
Overview Xscape Network Chat is a local network instant messaging
application for Windows. Xscape is shareware. The first 30 days are
free, use afterwards requires registation for technical support. Try it
first, if you like it, then buy it! Using
Xscape you may communicate with other users on your network in a
secure and safe manner. The
program is designed to make communication between users easy, secure and efficient.
Xscape
provides the instant messaging capabilities of the commercial on-line services,
but does not require any Internet access for it to work. Xscape
works across an Ethernet network, using the TCP/IP protocol to send and receive
data. Installation
Xscape Network Chat is two simple files, a Server and a Client. Choose
one computer to run the Server program and run the Client program on all computers
(including the Server). NO ADVERTISING is guaranteed, like the other popular Chat/Instant
messaging programs. Running
Xscape To run Xscape, simply start the server
program then the client
programs. Clients logging in should enter the IP address shown in the server window.
A Username is also given but without restrictions (no id/password - can be anybody).
OUR
PROMISE If you have ever loaded one of the "free" chat programs
out there such as AOL IM or YAHOO CHAT you will notice you have TONS OF SPYWARE
AND POPUPS LOADED on your system. We promise NONE OF THAT. There is absolutely
zero popup or spyware software loaded with Xscape Network Chat. That feature alone
is worth the purchase of the software.
Troubleshooting
Certain installations will require these extra instructions.
